The design of this large bowl has a fresh contemporary design reminiscent of ferns uncurling in early spring. I adapted it from a fine old example I found from the Norwegian folk art tradition, unusual for its simple incised lines instead of deeper carving. The exterior rim has a warm iron underglaze stain under the gold glaze. A generously sized serving piece, 9.5 " diameter at the rim, 11" at the widest diameter and 5.75" in height.
