We had a hard time naming this Flat Turning Bowl. It is not a very exciting way to describe a piece with such perfect, simple elegance. The open form shows the close throwing rings, maybe reflecting Gene’s concentration as he held the tension to a single pull, a pause to rest before a small finely curved side. After the bisque firing it called only for cobalt blue turning on the side before over-glazing.
